Copying my Gabby in an attempt to re-start my blogging kick. Let’s see if this will work. Hello Monday stolen from Gabby who much more eloquently borrowed it from someone else. I’m not as eloquent, but I try.
Hello weekend hangover. Last week was long and felt never-ending and this weekend was much-needed. Staying up past my bedtime to watch the Breaking Bad finale and the Season Premiere of Homeland? Totally worth it.
Hello sore legs. I went to flywheel yesterday to celebrate my cousin’s birthday while he is home between graduating from IOC (Infantry Officer’s Course) and starting his duty as a Lieutenant in the Marine’s in California. It was really fun, but “flying” next to a Marine? Intense :).
Hello paint fumes. Our bathrooms are being painted because
we figured I thought that it would be a good idea to paint all 3 bathrooms at once since one of our bathrooms needed repair from the leak that happened a few months ago. I don’t know why I thought that this would be a 2 day activity and they’d be out of my house. 6 days in and we’re still going strong. Mainly because the small hole in my ceiling turned into removing the whole ceiling when they found mold. Such is my life. I am grateful for fresh paint and now I would like new shower curtains. This is why J doesn’t like my home improvement plans. Small changes turn into and then… and then… I’m a dreamer, what can I say?
Hello dirty house. I am so tired of dust everywhere, not having a place to hang my towels (why take out towel bars on Tuesday and start painting Friday?), leaves from having doors and windows open constantly… there’s no point in cleaning because it will just come back – at least that’s what I keep telling myself. Hello lazy? By the end of this week though? Floors are going to SHINE like the top of the Chrysler building!
Hello hungry. I read a couple of foodie blogs this morning and now I am just hungry. Who wants to make me lunch?
Hello additional responsibility. Why is it that as soon as your boss goes out on maternity leave the proverbial shit hits that fan? Everything is hunky dory and then BOOM… it’s fine, it will all work out, but man, I miss someone else helping me think through all of the…stuff…
Hello fall clothes. I love fall clothes.
Hello budget. I hate budgets. See above.
Hello returns. I am the QUEEN of buying and returning. I think I got it from my grandmother who would return a cantaloupe if it wasn’t “as expected” when she cut into it. I’m not quite that crazy, but I do love a store like Anthropologie or Nordstrom that really has no return policy. I always have a return, which makes certain people in my life wonder why I bought it in the first place, but… whatever.
Hello dying cow ring tones? Why does my painter have a ringtone that sounds like a dying cow? And why do I now hear Chris Rock Champagne Room coming from downstairs? Perhaps this should really say HELLO GET OUT!
Hello Fall. Fall means soup and I love soup. And the crock pot. If you have great soup (non pork) or crock pot recipes for me, I’m all ears. I always want to try out new meals, especially meals that are EASY. And delicious. And healthy.
Hello future uncertainty. Someone please give me a crystal ball that will tell me my future. I just want to know a couple of things… 1 really important, the others just nice to have. If someone could grant me a wish or tell me my future on ONE thing… That’s not too much to ask, is it?
Hello gratitude. I’ve started a gratitude list. 10 things every day. I don’t always write them down, but I do try to create the list in my head every day. Today’s list? (in no particular order) 1) Friends who get it. 2) A roof over my head even though some days the roof feels leaky and stinks like paint and dust bunnies. 3) Health. Too many people are not in good health. The older I get, the scarier this is. 4) Music. It can change my mood in an instant. 5) J. 6) Chicago pizza. 7) A new month of new possibilities. 8) Thanksgiving and Winter vacations that are keeping me motivated right now. 9) Fall TV. 10) A few extra days of summer-like weather.
Here’s to a week more full of gratitude and less full of dust bunnies and work.
