Remember when it was April? When did it stop being April? The month flew by fast fast fast…
Life has been crazy busy and really boring all at the same time. I don’t exactly understand that one and probably can’t explain it, but it has.
I think it has something to do with being away from home Mon-Thurs again. Everything feels fast (except for the time away from home – that doesn’t feel so fast).
I always procrastinate my weekends away when I am traveling (do you do this fellow traveling friends??). Being productive feels like such a hard task. The only thing that I really want to do is catch up with my family / friends and catch up with my DVR. If I make both work, I call that a successful weekend! My laundry gets done sometime in there… and I ususally manage to walk the dog / exercise, but any actual ‘to-dos’ are easily procrastinated.
Clean? No thanky.
Pay bills? As if.
It helps that I can do some of the pesky stuff during the week, even when I’m away because unfortunately, my payees don’t understand “I did not open the bill, therefore it did not happen…”… so I usually travel with a pile of mail that I force myself to pay attention to during the week.
My productivity during the week is on over-drive. Work, bills, working out… check!
And who am I kidding, the fact that I have a level-headed, overly organized husband helps too.
Last Tuesday I got a call from J in the evening like I always do… or maybe I called him that night, it doesn’t matter. We usually start conversations with the same “how was your day, how’s the pup” talk, but last Tuesday, J was concerned about something other than my day.
J: Did you take a banana with you yesterday?
J: Did you know that I specifically buy 5 bananas for the week so that I can have one every morning?
J: Next time I am buying more bananas…
See, overly organized 🙂
I have a new addiction. Hello pink fitbit (<–pretend that’s linked to www.fitbit.com and pretend a took a REAL cute picture of my fuchsia fitbit for you).
I am a step tracking fool right now.
Yesterday I walked almost 17,000 steps. Ya I did.
During work hours I had only walked ~6000 steps (hello desk), so I forced myself to walk about 4.5 miles after work. It was a good walk. Today, I am at about the same as I was yesterday, so I will work out after work. My daily target is 10,000 during the week and 15,000 on weekends. I am NOT replacing exercise, but this is making me more accountable. And I like it. I also synced it to the My Fitness Pal app on my iPhone, so calories and steps are being tracked all around. HOLLA.
I’ve had the fitbit for 5 days, so I’m no expert, but so far, I like it.
This completely random post has been brought to you by the letter T for TIRED and TUESDAY and TERRIBLE at thinking of things to write on my blog even though I really want to keep it up 🙂
