If you have a baby you know that finding the right pacifier can be really hard. Before we had Simon, J and I were hesitant to introduce pacifiers into the mix before Simon was comfortable nursing. However, when we were in the NICU we were told that a pacifier could actually help Simon learn to suck. Simon took to pacifiers immediately, but he could never keep them in his mouth, which drove my husband and me a bit batty!
After a few weeks of constantly holding the pacifier in Simon’s mouth until he fell asleep or was soothed, I heard from a friend that MAM pacifiers stay in the baby’s mouth the best. I don’t think 5 minutes passed before I was ordering a set for Simon.
The first night I gave him the MAM pacifier he fell asleep with it in his mouth and woke up a couple of hours later with it still there. I was SHOCKED and totally hooked. I ordered several more packages from my phone while hanging out with Simon and now I never leave home without at least 2 MAM pacifiers in the diaper bag.
Simon is 4 months old, so he puts EVERYTHING in his mouth, including his hands. The MAM pacifier is the one thing that I can safely and consistently put in Simon’s mouth to discourage the finger sucking for a bit. The pacifier nipple is made from ultra-soft silicone, which seems to make the pacifier comfortable to suck on for extended periods.
This may be silly, but another thing that I really appreciate about the MAM pacifier is that they don’t leave a ring around Simon’s mouth after he is done using it. Many other brands that we tried left a mark from sucking. Simon could sleep for a few hours with a MAM pacifier in his mouth and it wouldn’t leave a mark. That’s a big deal to me.
The first pacifiers that we used from MAM were the MAM Start pacifiers for age 0+. They were the perfect size for a newborn and Simon took to them instantly. Now that he is slightly older we mainly use the MAM Trends for 0-6 months, but Simon is happy with either the MAM Start or the MAM Trends.
Another cool thing about these pacifiers (but wait, there’s more…!) are the cute designs. I just learned that the designs can be personalized with custom messages through the MAM website too, which is pretty awesome!

I was given MAM products in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own. I am truly a fan of MAM pacifiers and the MAM company. I am looking forward to trying more products (e.g. sippy cups and teethers) as Simon gets a bit older.
